Vermiculite is a natural, inert mineral found in many parts of the world, including right here in South Carolina.

Exfoliated vermiculite’s natural absorbency and fire-resistant characteristics are ideal for hazardous spills and clean ups. It is quickly becoming the go-to resource for environmental service companies looking to solidify liquid waste or capture chemicals that need to be disposed.

Vermiculite’s lightweight, absorbent and nonabrasive properties also make it an excellent choice for packaging material for any shipment. Vermiculite packing material is ideal for shipping anything hazardous, flammable, liquid or any combination of industrial products when leakage could occur. Naturally inert and safe, it easily pours around irregular shaped objects and provides superb shock absorbency. Palmetto Vermiculite offers a wide range of particle sizes to suit individual customer needs.

About American Made NOT a CHINA IMPORT - BUY American
Palmetto Vermiculite was founded in 1988 by Ray Brown. Ray is a serial entrepreneur who has had many successful businesses despite only graduating from the 8th grade. He started with nothing more than a single furnace given to him by Bill Strong of The Strong Company and fierce supporter in his wife, Edna Brown. Together they have built Palmetto into what it has become today. Although they have handed the daily operations over to their grandson, Hunter Brown, who joined the company in 2014; they are still vital members of the organization and have set the standard that Palmetto will always aim to carry on.
